Best Gables Memory
I cannot say I have any one particular “best memory”, except to
say the experiences and friendships I developed from my earliest years to
the present made me who I am today. Band and orchestra were both very special
to me for the friendships, disciplines and enhancements to my now very minimal
musical talents! So much for shaking the family tree with a famous musical
composer.
Special Events In My Life
Attended Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL, Valencia Community College
and finally graduated from University of Central Florida 5/1998 with BA. I
have two sons, Richard Merrill Smith and Jason Roy Smith, five grandchildren
ranging from 14 – 24 and Barbara, my son Rick's wife. I have been an
office administrator and paralegal with numerous law firms in Miami, Greenville,
SC and Orlando, FL for 43 years and plan on working for another 4 years. Have
also worked for a federal judge, immigration judge, several circuit court
judges and President Carter's Envoy to the Vatican. I worked on national political
fund raising events for 15 years and was in charge of finding the volunteers
and maintaining/entertaining the volunteers for the telethon during the National
Democratic Telethon held in Miami in the 60's. I have led an incredible life
with fascinating experiences. I can honestly say I have no real regrets for
anything I have done with my life, the friendships I have developed and continue
to develop and the continual learning experiences I encounter daily. My very
favorite busy activity is entertaining in my home, trying out new recipes
on unsuspecting guests and have them be a hit and gardening.
